Colorado is big. Your access to CCA updates shouldn’t depend on your ZIP code. From Grand Junction to Greeley, Durango to Denver, the Annual Meeting is coming to you.

We love tradition. We also love attendance. Attend from your office, your kitchen table, or somewhere between patient appointments.

No hotel map. No parking. No guessing “which breakout room is this?”

This year’s CCA Annual Meeting is online so more members can be part of the conversation.

We are pleased to welcome non-members who would like to attend and learn more about CCA’s work. As this is the official Annual Meeting of the association, voting and participation in formal discussion will be reserved for current CCA members.

We appreciate everyone’s interest and look forward to sharing updates on CCA’s priorities, advocacy efforts, and work on behalf of the profession.

Elections

Each year, certain districts and positions are up for election. This year, we have six candidates to fill five Director seats, and one candidate each for Treasurer and Vice-President. The CCA’s bylaws state, “The election for Directors shall be conducted as determined by the Board. If only one candidate is nominated, that candidate may be elected through acclamation.” Therefore, the following candidates will be elected through acclamation at the annual meeting.

Officer Candidates

  • Vice President – Dr. Rob Anderson, D.C.
  • Treasurer – Dr. Brandon McCormick, D.C.

Director Candidates – voting will take place via secure electronic voting software during the Annual Business Meeting. Per our bylaws, the five candidates who receive the highest number of votes will be elected to the Board.

  • Dr. Shannon Bundy, D.C.
  • Dr. Jane Brewer, D.C.
  • Dr. Kathryn “Katie” Decker, D.C.
  • Dr. Riley Kulm, D.C.

Voting of members at membership meetings

Annual Meeting

  • An annual meeting of the members shall be held each calendar year at a time and location designated by the Board of Directors.
  • Meeting minutes shall be retained and published by the Executive Office.
  • The Active Members present either in person or virtually at the Annual Business Meeting shall constitute a quorum for voting purposes.
  • Items to be placed on the agenda must be received by the Executive Director of the CCA no later than 30 days prior to the meeting.
  • Items that are received less than 30 days prior will automatically be sent to the Board of Directors or the appropriate committee for consideration at a subsequent meeting.
  • Voting by proxy SHALL NOT be permitted.

Officers of the Board. Elections.

  • Nominating Committee: The Nominating Committee shall accept nominations from eligibleMembers no later than 60 days in advance of the annual meeting.
  • The Nominating Committee shall vet nominees within 30 days todetermine eligibility to serve as an officer.
  • Once vetting is complete, all eligible candidates will be listed on theCCA website. Information will include, but not be limited to:
    • Candidate biographical information, and
    • Position for which candidate is running.
  • Election Procedures:
    • The election for officers shall take place by written, electronic, or other voting system deemed appropriate by the board at the Annual Business Meeting.
      • A candidate is considered elected by attaining a plurality vote of the regular members who vote in the election.c.The election for Directors shall be conducted as determined by the Board. If only one candidate is nominated that candidate may be elected through acclamation.
      • The officers will take office effective January 1 of the yearfollowing election.
      • Any person elected as an officer who holds a current position as a District Director must resign their position as a District Director upon taking office as an officer.
      • The position of President will not be elected but rather will ascend to that position from the position of President-Elect.
      • The President-Elect will ascend to that position from the position of Vice-President.
      • The position Immediate Past President will be assumed by the outgoing President.
      • Vice-President will be elected annually.
      • The Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected to two year terms in alternating years.
        • Secretary in odd years
        • Treasurer in even years
    • Directors. Elections.
      • The election for Directors shall be conducted as determined by the Board. Ifonly one candidate is nominated that candidate may be elected throughacclamation.
      • Each eligible voting member shall have secured access provided by theExecutive Office.
      • The Executive Director shall publish a biographical description of eachcandidate on the Association’s website.
      • A candidate is considered elected by attaining a plurality vote of the regularmembers who vote in the election.
      • Elections for Directors shall be held in alternating years, with up to five Directors being elected in even years and up to five Directors being elected in odd years.

Membership Types

  • Active Member
    • Chiropractors who hold a valid license to practice chiropractic in the state of Colorado; and
    • Are of high moral character and in good standing in his or her community.
  • Associate Member:
    • Unlicensed chiropractor; or.
    • Vendor; or
    • Any other individual with an interest in supporting the goals of the CCA.

Rights of Members – Voting

Active Members

  • Right to vote (after three months of membership in good standing)
  • Eligibility to hold office within the CCA provided the member has been an Active Member in good standing for a period of at least two years immediately prior to their election or appointment
  • Serve on and Chair Committees of the CCA
  • Attend and participate in meetings of the CCA.

Associate Members

  • May serve as non-voting members on Committees of the CCA
  • May attend committee and CCA meetings.

Life Members

  • May serve as voting members (with valid Colorado license to practice chiropractic) on Committees of the CCA
  • May attend committee and CCA meetings.
