The Board of Directors has approved changes to our current bylaws. Our bylaws require that any changes approved by the board are voted on by the members who have voting rights, based on their membership level. Current bylaws require that members have joined at least three months prior to the meeting to be eligible to vote. The following levels have voting privilege:
-
General Member
-
1st Year
-
2nd Year
-
3rd Year
-
Life Member
-
Spouse
-
Part-Time
-
Retired
These changes will be presented to the membership for a vote at our Annual Meeting, which will be held during our fall convention.
The meeting will be held:
October 30, 12:00 pm Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center 13200 E 14th Pl Aurora, Colorado 80011
If you are not attending the convention, but wish to attend the Annual Meeting, please arrive by 11:30 am to confirm your membership status and obtain a wristband.
You can review a redlined version of the changes here.
Highlights of changes:
-
Streamline the membership requirements and combine Associate and Auxiliary in the bylaws to allow the levels to be defined in the policies. This allows the board to oversee membership levels and make adjustments in a timely manner, as we explore options to better benefit the membership
-
Add a requirement for notice of district meetings scheduled by a District Director to insure the opportunity to engage more members
-
Eliminate certain standing committees as defined in the bylaws, and allow them to be ad hoc committees as needed
-
Define who will serve as chair for standing committees so leadership does not have to be selected, rather determined by position on the board. Additionally, add a requirement that a minimum number of members at large take part as committee members
