PRE-PARTICIPATION SPORTS PHYSICALS

I

The Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSSA) allows a Doctor of Chiropractic to perform pre-participation sports evaluations (PPE) for middle school and high school athletics. A Doctor of Chiropractic must have an SPC number on file with CHSAA to perform these pre-participation physicals.

The Colorado Chiropractic Association (CCA) offers courses to perform pre-participation examinations. This course is a requirement for Chiropractors in the state of Colorado to clear an athlete for sports. Chiropractors must also maintain an active Healthcare Provider Level CPR Card to perform PPE Physicals. This is also a requirement of their Chiropractic licensure.
